This floorcloth was commissioned by a client in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania. The floorcloth measures 3′ x 10′ and resides in a kitchen with a companion floorcloth of the same palette and design measuring 3′ x 4′. The design is based on floor patterns found in The Edward Durant House, Newton, Massachusetts, circa 1780.

The colors used are Blue Lotus for the background, Ultramarine and Pearl for the motifs, and Ultramarine for the border.

The client chose this design and color scheme after viewing Edward Durant #3 in our Early American Collection.
