Gracewood Design’s studio is located in San Francisco’s mission district at The Art Explosion, 744 Alabama Street. These photographs show our new floor which was in rather bad condition when we moved into the studio. The floor was sanded and pickled (a whitening agent was added to the polyurethane seal used over the hardwood) and then stenciled and sealed again. The pattern used is from the Edward Durant House in Newton, Massachusetts, circa 1780. The border stencil was created by Gracewood Design.
