Valentine Van Doren
This floorcloth was commissioned by a client in Oxford, Mississippi. The floorcloth measures 9’ 6” x 12’ and resides under a dining room table. The design is based on floor patterns found in Valentine Van Doren House in Neshanic, New Jersey, circa 1780. (Scale provided courtesy of Jeremy Sutton Portrait Artist and Break Dancer.)
The background color is Pale Straw. The border is Carbon Black and the motifs are Carbon Black, custom blue and custom gold.
The client was intrigued by Valentine Van Doren #1 in our Early American Collection, but was looking for a much larger floorcloth. We collaborated to produce this lovely and dramatic custom rug.
