Gracewood Design Studio Floor
Gracewood Design’s former studio was located in San Francisco’s mission district at The Art Explosion, 744 Alabama Street. These photographs show the studio floor which was in rather bad condition when we moved into the studio.
The floor was sanded and pickled (a whitening agent was added to the polyurethane seal used over the hardwood) and then stenciled and sealed again. The pattern used is from the Edward Durant House in Newton, Massachusetts, circa 1780. The border stencil was created by Gracewood Design.
Gracewood Design has moved to a new studio in Portland, Oregon.
