This floorcloth and set of placemats was commissioned by clients in Portland, Oregon who just completed a kitchen restoration. The pattern is based on portugese tile which is employed in the backsplash behind the stove. We collaborated with the client to come up with a design for the placemats that was fairly faithful to the tile and a design for the floorcloth that was more derivative.

The floorcloth background color is Dune Grass and for the placemats, Celery Salt. Both have the same motif colors: amazon soil; amazon soil/burnt umber mix; blue violet; custom green and custom yellow. The floorcloth measures 3’ 6” x 5’ and the placemats are 15” in diameter.
